So what is happening with BLM now in the US?

Great article, Shawn! I thought I knew stuff but until I met my husband (who is mixed-raced), I had to admit, I had no freaking clue.

BLM all but disappeared over here in the UK. How are things going over in the US?

Wanna hear something funny? My hubby is very active and right now is trying to engage far more with black communities, given that his dad was Jamaican and he also organised the BLM protest here in our town.

It turned out that while Jamaicans seem to be very open minded and supportive, Africans (especially black African women) are giving him hell for being with me. In a general debate about racism, he finally had to admit that there are just as many vile and sensless racists among black people as there are racists among white.

Which is not me trying to say we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves as the white community, not at all. We have some serious damage to apologise for and repair.

I'm just saying that racism is well and alive everywhere you go. Everyone wants to be the top dog at some point it seems... ?

As humans and humanity we still have such a long way to go and right now it seems that things are going in reverse, with women's rights, racism, poverty, loss of democracy, you name it...

And yet technology has made such a huge leap this year alone that I'm truly worried about our future. The kind of technology we are about to face so soon or are already facing, requires a highly evolved ETHICAL society in its totality - and we are FAR from it, wouldn't you agree?
