Is Love worth it? Or are we just Hopeless?
Here is the short story of an uncle of mine. He’s 70 something. Yes, 70 odd years old. He was married for a long time and a couple of years ago finally got divorced. I say finally, because those two were miserable and we all knew it.
While his ex-wife is heartbroken and has no life of her own and is completely lost, he’s thriving more than ever. He has two girlfriends. No, not at the same time. But…to make things bizarre, they both have the same name, let’s say it’s Mary. Now the first Mary is his age, likes to play golf as he does, has her own business and still runs it while my uncle gave his over to his son.
Sounds kinda perfect, right? Weeeeeell….
Every now and then they have a big fight and they split up (well, usually she dumps him) and he goes back to this other Mary who is 15 years younger if not more, is head of some state department, good looking and totally in love with my uncle. While Mary no.1 does not want to take care of another man ever again in her life and is not willing to compromise on the things that are important to her (like checking stuff on the internet or watch her favourite soap opera show on TV), Mary no. 2 would do anything for my uncle, take good care of him despite her amazing career and give him all her spare time.
