Exactly! And let's not forget, this planet of ours has undergone several ice ages and hot spells - and humanity has survived. This is nothing new really. New in our lifetime, sure.
And as you say - what's the point of being afraid? You only take away the time when you could have enjoyed the time, because there is a lot to enjoy still or more than ever before really.
Yes, sure, there are many dangers. The one that worries me most is AI - but there are people like my husband, who is ethical and chipping in so the AI will be smart enough, diverse enough, kind enough. A lot of people are working in the right direction, we just don't see them.
Maybe this is why I can be so positive, because I see hope and I see the positive change my husband is making.
And yes, humanity will probably see the end at some point - but I'd say, we had a good run. And we're too stupid to pull ourselves together in order NOT to destroy ourselves, ah well...the universe really won't cry about us ;) It's a blip in time that we have, even as a species. We might as well appreciate the beauty around us now, while we can. Not live in fear. I like how you put that.
